You can connect Claude or ChatGPT to your stores, so you can ask about your store and prepare changes from the AI app you already use. Only Claude and ChatGPT can connect. You choose which stores the app may use and whether it may only read or also change things.
What you can do here
- Copy the StoreMate server address from Settings, then Connected AI apps.
- Add it in Claude or ChatGPT as a custom connector.
- Choose the stores the app may read, and whether it may change one of them.
- See and revoke the apps you connected, in Settings, then Connected AI apps.
How to
Connect Claude or ChatGPT
- Make sure Outside AI apps is on for the store, in Settings, then Mate and AI apps. Only the store owner can switch it on.
- In the sidebar, open Settings, then Connected AI apps.
- Under StoreMate server address, click the copy button.
- In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector and paste the address.
- The app opens a StoreMate page asking you to allow it. Sign in if asked, and check the account it shows: Use another account switches.
- Under Stores, tick the stores the app may read.
- Under Access, choose Read only, or Read and change if the app asked to make changes.
- For Read and change, pick the Store this app may change.
- Click Allow. To leave without connecting, click Cancel.
Stop an app using your stores
- Open Settings, then Connected AI apps.
- Click Revoke next to the app and confirm. The app loses access to your stores at once. You can connect it again from the app.
Good to know
- Staff can connect an app only to stores where their role includes the Outside AI apps permission.
- With Read only, the app can look at products, orders and settings but cannot change anything.
- With Read and change, the app asks before it uses a change tool. Every change it makes shows in Settings, then Recent AI changes, with Undo for 10 minutes.
- An app can never do what Mate never does: account security, money going out, cancelling orders, deleting or transferring a store, or custom code.
- If no store allows AI apps, the allow page says "None of your stores allow connecting AI apps. Ask the store owner."
- A connection stays until you revoke it, or until it goes unused for 30 days.
- Switching Outside AI apps off for a store disconnects every app connected to it. Switching it back on does not reconnect them.
- Each connection can make up to 10 requests a minute.
